Apron feeder is important in ore feeding and conveying system. It is to transport ore to primary crusher for evenly and continuously feeding, and also for short-distance material delivery. It is especially appropriated for transporting materials with large proportion, large particle size, and strong abrasiveness, and can work reliably in the open air, humidity and other harsh conditions, and can be widely used in metallurgical, mining, cement, and building materials. Apron feeder is generally divided into three types of heavy, medium and light type.
Llight type apron feeder
The light apron feeder is a continuous feeding machine. It is suitable for the bulk material of short distance conveying the grain size below 160mm. In the mine, the mineral processing plant, the chemical, cement, building materials and other departments, it is widely used in the storage bin to crusher, transport and other mechanical uniform continuous feeding. It can be installed horizontally and can be tilted, and its maximum upturn angle is 20 degrees. It is generally adapted to the loose density <1200kg/m3, the block weight <140kg, the temperature below 350 ℃. The general drawing of the light apron feeder is shown in Figure 1.

Medium type apron feeder
The medium apron feeder is a batch feeding machine, which is suitable for the bulk material of short distance conveying the grain size below 400mm. In the mines, plant chemical, cement, building materials, and other departments, widely used from storage bin to crusher, transport and other machinery for uniform batch feed. It can be installed horizontally and can be tilted, and its maximum upturn angle is 20 degrees. It is generally adapted to the loose density <2400kg/m3, the block weight <500kg, the temperature below 400℃. The general drawing of the medium apron feeder is shown in Figure 2.

Heavy type apron feeder
Heavy apron feeder is an auxiliary equipment for transport machinery. It is used for crushing and grading workshop and cement, building materials and other departments in large scale beneficiation plant. It is used for continuous and even feeding to primary crusher as well as for short distance transportation of larger size and larger proportion of material. It can be installed horizontally, also can be tilted, with the maximum angle of 12 degree. In order to avoid directly hitting the feeder on the material, the hopper does not appear to be unloaded. The general drawing of the heavy type apron feeder is shown in Figure 3.

The driving device of apron feeder works in the way that motor drives reducer, then the cross sliding coupling & eccentric mechanism drives pawl, pawl toggling ratchet and ratchet driving the sprocket makes the feeder running. Eccentric mechanism is installed cross sliding coupling, the other end provided with the eccentric disc driving pawl and ratchet. The middle of the main driving system is equipped with two sprockets & chain mesh and drives the feeder operating. You can change the running speed of the feeder by adjusting the eccentric distance and optimal running speed can be obtained by adjustment of the eccentric wheel. Chain plate directly carries and conveys material by the driving device. Operation chain plate forms an enclosed chain through sprockets.
