The purpose of kaolin processing is to remove the sulfide, oxide and hydroxide of iron and titanium oxides which can reduce the whiteness of Kaolin, as well as the detrital minerals such as feldspar and quartz from the Kaolin ore, so as to improve the purity and whiteness of kaolin products. Kaolin beneficiation process mainly adopts gravity separation to remove sand and classifying method, assisted by high gradient magnetic separation, carrier flotation, selective flocculation, stripping, chemical bleaching and other methods, iron removal process is an important link of kaolin processing.

Application

The sandy kaolin with low impurity and high whiteness can be appropriately processed by air classification. For kaolin with high impurity content, low whiteness and high iron content, a comprehensive solution with gravity separation, strong magnetic separation and chemical bleaching shall be used. For kaolin with high content of organic matter, the process of pulping, sieving and calcining can be added.
